Cameroon :
I leaved in Cameroon during fifteen years, moving in several towns: Yaounde, Buea, Douala, Maroua.
Located in center Africa, it's a bilingual country due to the French and English colonization.
This country is beautiful because you can find all kind of land that exist in the whole Africa :
- desert in the north
- see and beautiful beach in the west
- mountain in the west (4100 m)
- equatorial deep forest in the south with pygmee
- a lot of big rivers and wild animals as you can imagine in Africa
Cameroonian people are very friendly and it very easy to meet people there.
They love football (sucker) and beer.English and French speaking.
Cameroon is one of the last country with a stability political system in black Africa.

France :
I leaved in France during seventeen years, moving in several towns and travel by car all over France for my commercial work.
As every one knows, Paris is one of the most beautiful city : i confirm, but not to leave!
France is a very nice country thanks to all the various specific regionals culture. The beauty of this country is in the old and rich history that french poeple keep very well.
I leaved 6 years in the west, then 2 years in Tours and after 9 years in Toulouse in the south were we were very happy, close to the mountain, sea, spain...
French people love football (sucker) in general and rugby in the south, they all love wine, cheese and meals in general.
Food is one of the most important things in France and it is usual to spend 2 to 4 hours for a family meeting lunch in the week-end. I enjoyed it!
But the economy is not good in France and as many old country in Europe there are a lot of difficults to upgrade their social and economic system, so there is a lot of unemployment (9% in 2006) specially for graduated student and postgraduate who move to younger country like USA or Canada.

Netherlands :
I leaved in Netherlands in Leiden (west coast) during one year, moving in several towns Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag and i learnt to speak Netherland.
Netherlands people are very very friendly and i had a lot of fun there, specially in the spring when the land is so beautiful with all the Tulip and canals.
This country is small, so its important for netherland poeple to have a good organization and management and they do it so well.
Netherlands are good in commerce and their economy is efficient.
I also enjoyed to use bicycle every time so easily because the country is flat and there are good cycle paths.
Netherlands people love football (succer, Ajax of Amsterdam) in general, they all love beer (Heineken is an Netherlands beer) and they famous cooked cheese : Gouda.
One of my favorite pinter is from Netherlands : Piotr Mondrian issued from a pinter movement “De Stijl or neoplastisim”.
I had a happy days with the family where i leaved but i needed more sun !!!

Spain :
I leaved in Toulouse in the south of France during nine years, travel several time to spain : Toulouse - Barcelona is less than 4 hours by car and 1 hour for the first spanish city.
I went several time to Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao to visit the Guggenheim museum wich is great.
The color of Spain is the red : a big symbol.
This is the country of passion, everything is done with passion like many Latin countries and Spain is a big country which is now competitive thanks to Europe financial help for development.
After a long dictator government (Franco) Spain had a lot of difficult to rebuilt the country.
Today it is a modern democratic country where a lot of European go to leave and work because of the good quality of life.
But the Costa Brava is now too busy as many nice beach in the wolrd and it's become difficult to find a "human" living place on the west coast.
I love Barcelona and many Spanish artist : Miro, Picasso, Almo Dovard, Carlos Ruiz, Manuel De Falla, Granados...

Portugal :
I traveled 2 times in Portugal, the first time i visited the north and the second time i visited all the south.
This country is very interesting because they had a pacific revolution the 25th april 1974: remember this famous photo of a woman holding a flower in her hand face to face with an whole army.
The carnation revolution!
Finaly the army join the people. i could still fell that spirit when i whent there.
Lisbon is a beautiful and big city with a good quality of life where you can easily feel a majestic past and trade ports even if i am not agree with colonism.
Porto is a beatiful city on the west coast famous for is cooked wine : the porto.
We also really enjoyed eating grilled sardines in small pub on the beach.
I love traditional Portugal music, the FADO. It is a kind of blues very difficult to sing.
The Bossa Nova of Rio de Janeiro is issued from FADO because of the colonization...
There are a lot of special fado's pub in Lisbon where people are so kindly that they will always take time to explain you the story of Fado or anythings else about their country.
My two favorite Fado singers are Amália Rodrigues and Misia

Mayotte :
I was in Mayotte during 5 weeks, i went there to leave there but finally i didn't stay.
This little island is a French territory close to Madagascar and comorian Islands.
Mayotte is famous for is huge lagoon and beautiful turtle and nature in general.
Mayotte is Muslim and the main city is Mamouzou.
I enjoyed taking the boat to small rock or small desert sands islands around.
This island is very young and not yet well developed and that wy it is good to go there if you are looking for wild desert and safty beach.
There is one thing very particular in Mayotte, is the tree on the beach : it is not coconut tree but huge baobab...that's very original the first time you see it.

Madagascar :
We traveled in Madagascar during 3 weeks.
This island is huge (second in the world after Australia) with rich nature and basement.
We spent 10 days in a small village with the foots in the lagoon.
After that we traveled in the south.
People are very nice and we never feel insecurity or fear for our stuffs.
Population are poor and we were sad for all the children who were beging and sleeping in the street of many city's.
I loved the people, the magnificent beach, the nature so strange, and all the spice like frech vanilla or cinnamon.
This island has one of the last primary forest of the world...very interesting to visit!
